Roast the chicken, eat some of the meat, save the rest, and then make chicken broth? Cut the chicken into peices and freeze some of them? It’s the day before payday and our cupboards are kind of bare. I got three children ages seven and under to cook for. Here is what I DO have:

Flour
a little bit of sugar, about half a cup
a few eggs
brown sugar
frozen strawberries
broccoli
butter
olive oil
little bit of onion
frozen potato wedges
carrots
whip cream

and that’s about it. Looking for any snack, treat, or dinner suggestions. Thanks for your time and responding!

I hate grocery shopping because I usually forget something or impulse buy. We are trying to stick to a budget, and the grocery shopping is definately an area I could trim.

I’ve tried to plan a menu for the week and buy accordingly, but found that I spent MORE buying items I’m only using for one meal… what tips do you have for frugal shopping and list making? Do you plan the entire month out? Are there websites that you can put what you have on hand and build a menu around it? any suggestions would be appreciated!
